Rác của chúng ta đi đâu?

Đây là những hình ảnh tại khu xử lý rác thải tại Hội An (cách phố cổ chỉ 15,20 phút đi xe máy) được một thành viên của Hoi An Eco-city Project ghi lại vào sáng nay. 

Bãi rác hiện nay đã đóng cửa. Với hơn 100 tấn rác thải ra mỗi ngày, hiện tại lò đốt (với công nghệ lạc hậu) đã quá tải và thậm chí phải trả tiền để mang một phần rác đem đi xử lý ở nơi khác. Phần lớn rác thải ở đây là túi ni lông và rác nhựa. Khu làm phân compost cũng ngập tràn rác thải nhựa. Nếu chúng ta không hành động để giảm bớt lượng rác thải, trong một TƯƠNG LAI RẤT GẦN, rác của thành phố này sẽ sớm ra sông, xuống biển và qua chuỗi thức ăn thâm nhập vào cơ thể người. 

Chỉ cần 80,000 người từ chối sử dụng túi ni lông một ngày, tính ra một tháng sẽ là 2,400, 000 túi - một con số khổng lồ. Bắt đầu từ việc nhỏ nhất, mang túi sử dụng nhiều lần khi đi chợ, từ chối sử dụng ống hút nhựa và các sản phẩm nhựa dùng một lần có nghĩa là bạn đang cứu lấy môi trường xung quanh mình và cũng là cứu lấy chính bạn.

This is sooo sooo bad! Much worse than I expected..

Today I visited the waste landfill of Hoi An located in Cam Ha, only 10 - 15 minutes drive from the old town. All of our waste collected are dumped here, and the land is overloaded. Some are burnt just to decrease the volume without any treatment. There is a steal "box" to burn them but no proper incineration facilities. No more space means another dump site. Hoi An City pays Nui Thanh (just off Tam Hai Island) to dispose of more waste.

A few minutes after being present at the site, I began to feel headache. This is the reality. Pollution.
It rains, and all the poison goes into the river, and eventually to the sea.
It is extremely harmful to the marine environment and your own health.

We all know waste is everywhere in this planet but how many of you actually imagine when you take a plastic bag it ends up like this?

How can you call Hoi An beautiful without knowing all this?

Promoting tourism to bring more waste without taking any action?

Oh please, if 80,000 people refuse one plastic bag a day, it counts 80,000 bags, and 2,400,000 bags in a month. That's a huge deference, and it doesn't cost money or time to do that. I really do hope more people here realise this.

ホイアンのごみ処理場（埋立地）を訪問してきました。思ったよりひどい状況です。市は一応、堆肥をつくるため有機物と無機物で回収日を分けていますが結局分けている人は少なく、ここで機械を使って分別しています。ですが分別されたものにも小さなナイロンやプラスチックが混ざっており、堆肥として農業に利用することはできません。

埋立地はすでに一杯で、何の処理もされないまま焼却。小さな焼却場もゴミが散乱し、数分いただけで頭痛が起こりました。今は捨てる場所がないので隣町にお金を払って廃棄しているそうです。

おそらくほとんどの人が、日々の生活でプラスチックやナイロン袋を見ても見てみないふりをするか、違和感を感じないでしょう。頭ではわかっていても、実際プラスチックを手にとってこうなることを想像する人なんてほんのわずかだと思います。

観光を推進してホテル、レストラン、店の数が増える、経済効果が上がるのはいいことですが、商売で利益を得るだけでいいのでしょうか。街が汚染されたら観光客も来なくなります。将来の汚染を考え、少しずつでも還元することは可能なのでないかと思います。

一人一人が少しでも気に留めて、１つでも拒否すれば、それが積もり積もって大きな変化になると思っています。

ホイアンの環境を守るべく、有志の方と集まって環境啓発プロジェクトを立ち上げました。２０１９年３月にはホイアンで環境イベントを行う予定です。
